The limits for hazardous substances has been confirmed by the European Union Com           

The RoHS directive 2002/95/EU (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances) restricts the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products. From July 1, 2006 products entering the marked are not allowed to include the substances restricted in the directive. The European Union Commission has conformed on August 19, 2005 (decision 2005/168/EU) the allowed maximum concentration values for homogenous material. The confirmed limits clarify the companiesí» preparation for the RoHS requirements, which will be valid for all products that have entered the market after July 1, 2006.

The RoHS directive limits the use of the following substances in homogenous material according to the limits below:
Substance Maxium concentration value
cadmium 0.01 weight per cent
mercury 0.1 weight per cent
lead 0.1 weight per cent
hexavalent cromium 0.1 weight per cent
brominated flame retardants (PBB and PBDE= 0.1 weight per cent
